My Nepali Photo Album

A place for all scenes of Nepal....

Week 1: (Kathmandu Valley)
21.07.2013 Our jungle entry way to our apartment (house) in Dhobigat, Lalitpur.
21.07.2013 Our apartment. The bottom level contains our kitchen, dining room, and sitting room. The second floor contains two bedrooms for the four of us girls. The third floor is being rented to someone else. The open window on the far side of the red protruding wall is my room.

21.07.2013 The room (and mosquito net) that Sydney and I share.

21.07.2013 Our landlord Surendra took us on a hike to see Kathmandu valley. This was the view as we crossed the river heading out of the valley.

21.07.2013 The Kathmandu Valley from a lookout point along our trek. You can just barely see the mountain tops through the monsoon season clouds. Crazy to think that this view is possible in under an hours walk.

21.07.2013 Another view from our trek with Surendra. And yes that is corn (maybe a blog title change is in order?).

21.07.2013 A hidden away hilltop Hindu temple that we hiked to.

21.07.2013 In our way back in to town from our walk, we were able to catch a photo of the local Dhobigat water tap. Nepali's come here to get drinking water, do their laundry, and bathe.

21.07.2013 Clothes lined up near the local tap.

21.07.2013 Almost back to our apartment after our hike! Our landlord Surendra leading the way down the path to our house.

23.07.2013 Sydney, myself, and Virginia outside the Fulbright Commission in our first Nepali Kurta Shurwalls.
